Finding out about Archaeology & history

If you become involved in the project you have the opportunity to train in archaeological and historical skills as you find out about the past of east Oxford. We would be interested to know the skills you are most keen to try out! The links below will give information about the activities you might take on.
These might include:
- surveying
- geophysics (surveying what’s below the ground)
- recording still standing buildings
- excavating small test pits or larger-scale excavation
- understanding old maps and photos
- dealing with excavation finds and the evidence for plants and animals used in farming and to eat.
